2010 Social Events: Off To A Great Start

By Monique Hogan

A new year, new administration and new events!  We kicked off the year with a Black History Month Networking Mixer at the Provecho Restaurant located in trendy, hip downtown Los Angeles.  The event was co-hosted with Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce and the Los Angeles Chapter of National Association of Black Sport Professionals.  Our members not only got the opportunity to make some really great connections, but also managed to get their “groove on” as well.

In May 2010, Prudential was looking for the brightest stars to join their team and sponsored a networking/mini career fair  co-hosted with the Los Angeles Chapter of National Sales Network at the Aloft in Rancho Cucamonga.

In June 2010, we learned about Expanding Professional Relationships.  A program sponsored by Target held at the Grammy Museum/Target Terrace at L.A. Live, Los Angeles’ newest night spot.  At the event members of the Los Angeles Chapters of the National Black MBA Association, National Society of Hispanic MBA’s (NSHMBA) and National Association of Women MBA’s (NAWMBA) were able to gain some knowledge on taking networking skills to another level, as well as enjoy the delicious “Targetinis” Target provided on the roof top of the beautiful L.A. Live Complex.

"Salsa & Soul" takes place July 15th at Cafe Sevilla in Long Beach, CA

Whew… we’ve been busy.  So what’s next?   Salsa and Soul! On Thursday, July 15th at the Café Sevilla in Downtown Long Beach, two premier MBA organizations LA-NBMBAA and OC-NSHMBA will network and salsa–what a winning combination.  (Download the flyer in .jpeg or .pdf formats.)

But it doesn’t stop there.   We’ll be “Doin’ It In The Park” at the LA Chapter’s Picnic Sunday, August 29th at the Burton Chace Park.

And if you really know what’s good for you then you’ll be in Los Angeles for our 32nd Annual Conference and Exposition and join the L.A. Chapter for the annual Welcome Party.  This year the Welcome Party will be held at the world famous Conga Room on Tuesday, September 21st.
